Set in a picturesque Warren County community centered around a large pond, this home enjoys peaceful waterfront views. For years, the homeowners cherished their shaded outdoor seating area—a relaxing place for meals and evening cocktail hours overlooking the water.
While the existing patio and freestanding structure had served them well, it was smaller than they desired and didn’t extend far enough to protect the patio doors.
A Fully Integrated Outdoor Retreat
The new, permanent, covered structure is fully integrated into the home’s architecture, with rooflines and materials carefully selected to make it appear as though it has always been there. The clients now have a ceiling fan for comfort and air circulation, a mounted outdoor TV for enjoying their favorite sports, ample space for both lounge seating and outdoor dining, and a custom-designed metal handrail that is simple, strong, and safe. Additionally, the new design raised the patio to better align with the home’s entry points, creating a safer and more natural transition from indoors to outdoors.
An Outdoor Living Area Turned “Little Slice of Heaven”
What was once a modest outdoor area has become a refined, functional, and welcoming retreat. Rain or shine, it offers protection, comfort, and flexibility for entertaining or quiet evenings at home. Most importantly, it still feels like what it always was to the homeowners—only better: their “little slice of heaven.”
A Whole Home Renovation & Redesign in Centerville, OH
Remodeler of the Year Award Category: Entire House $500,001-$750,000
This Centerville home had undergone some previous renovations, but the homeowners were ready for a complete refresh. After thoughtful discussions, it became clear that several elements from the prior renovation were interrupting the home’s functionality.
The solution? A full-scale reorganization of the home’s layout. To accomplish this seamlessly, the homeowners temporarily vacated the property, allowing us to complete the entire home renovation in one cohesive five-month transformation—touching every room in the house.
The Updated Dining Room & Kitchen
The former dining room was transformed into a beautiful kitchen with an expanded layout, improved storage, two sinks for enhanced functionality, and a 5-foot The Galley Workstation sink. Wood flooring was installed throughout the main level, eliminating choppy transitions, instantly improving visual flow and cohesion.
Bathroom Updates and More
The primary and hall bathrooms were updated for improved style and function. The primary bathroom now features large-format flooring, a sleek barrier-free shower, and rustic hickory cabinetry. Additional renovations extended to the mudroom, pantry, powder room, lower level, and laundry room.
