(Centerville, OH – January 29, 2009) Remodeling Designs, Inc., again has made Qualified Remodeler Magazine’s Top 500 list of remodeling firms in the U.S. The magazine is dedicated to serving the residential and light commercial remodeling industry. The Top 500 list is compiled and published annually to recognize remodeling firms in specific areas of success. All remodeling contractors are encouraged to submit entries for the yearly roster. Invitations to participate appear in the December through April issues of the magazine. Direct mailers, letters and e-mail promotions also solicit participation.
The Top 500 firms first were ranked according to their total sales volume for the previous year (2007). Each company’s sales figure required verification by the firm’s CPA. Companies then had to satisfy precise qualifications to earn a “Star” in the benchmark categories of: Total number of years in business; participation in industry associations; certified employees on staff; industry awards; and community service. Remodeling Designs again achieved the highest rating of “Five Stars.” Of the 500 companies recognized, 32 are headquartered in Ohio. Across the country 121 companies earned “Five Stars,” and only 8, including Remodeling Designs, are Ohio based.

Like most of the Top 500 firms, Remodeling Designs is taking the economic slowdown in stride. A poll by Qualified Remodeler Magazine indicated that rather than pulling back, these leading firms seemed to turn their concerns for the economy into motivation to push forward. “It is safe to say that firms listed in the 2008 Top 500 are doing their part to drive remodeling forward,” the magazine reported. “These leading remodeling firms are bucking the negative news about housing and moving ahead even in places where the local economy is shrinking. They are staying focused on their respective businesses. They are investing in marketing and advertising to drive more leads. And so far it is paying off.”
Kelly and Erich Eggers agreed with the publication’s assessment. “We have every reason to be optimistic about the immediate future and long-term prospects of our company,” the couple said. “Today’s economy and housing situation makes it more important than ever for homeowners to protect and improve the value of their investment. During these trying times, people also are spending more time at home, so they want their surroundings to be more comfortable and enjoyable,” they claimed.
