Fairborn, Ohio is a thriving city located in Greene County. With a population of approximately 34,000 people, Fairborn offers a bustling community with a suburban feel and easy access to nearby cities like Dayton. Incorporated in 1950, Fairborn was originally two cities: Fairfield and Osborn. It is known to be the only city in the world with the name Fairborn. 

One of the things that makes Fairborn special is its strong sense of community. The city hosts several community events throughout the year, including Woofstock and the U.S. Air Force Marathon Weekend.

If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, Fairborn won’t disappoint. The city has several parks and recreational areas, including nearly 40 acres of trails at the Cold Springs Reserve and Ohio’s best heirloom gardens at the Mercer Smith House. The city is also home to the Wright Brothers Huffman Prairie Bikeway for cycling enthusiasts, as well as 19 other parks.

If you’re a shopper, Fairborn has plenty of options to explore. There are several shopping centers and local boutiques throughout the city, particularly in the Main Street and Central Avenue cross-section. Additionally, Fairborn has a Farmer’s Market at the 5/3 Commons that runs from April through October.

If you’re a foodie, Fairborn has a diverse range of dining options to explore. The city is home to a wide variety of cuisines, from traditional bar & grill-style fare to creole to Mediterranean to Mexican to Italian to sushi.

Fairborn is also home to the Huffman Prairie Flying Field, where the Wright Brothers flew. The city documents its aviation history at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Museum.
